Located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria can be as much fun to get to as it is to explore once you're here. A little planning will make your journey more interesting. During peak season, allow extra time for travel. By Air Victoria is served by the Victoria International Airport (about a half hour drive north of the city on the Saanich Peninsula), regular float plane service to the Inner Harbour, and scheduled helicopter flights to downtown. For schedule details contact your travel agent, Tourism Victoria or Tourism Vancouver.
By Sea Victoria and Vancouver Island are well-connected to the B.C. mainland and Washington State by scheduled vehicle- and passenger-carrying ferries and passenger-only high-speed catamaran service. Dozens of sailings each day are available from several points to terminals near Sidney on the Saanich peninsula and to downtown Victoria.
Ground Transportation There are dozens of ways to get around Greater Victoria: public bus transportation; scheduled coach line service; scenic tours by bus, double-decker or horse-drawn carriage; water tours; car rentals; taxi service; limousine service; bike and scooter rentals.
